AUTONOMOUS Project Among Five Finalists for the Longitude Prize on Dementia
We're thrilled to announce that the AUTONOMOUS project has been selected as one of the five finalists for the prestigious Longitude Prize on Dementia!
This achievement was recognized at the Alzheimer Europe conference in Geneva (October 2024), where we had the privilege of presenting our project's vision and the results from our initial research phase.
Presentation at the Alzheimer Europe Conference
At the Alzheimer Europe Annual Conference, we had the opportunity to present our work alongside four other finalists. This conference brings together researchers, advocacy groups, people living with dementia, caregivers, policymakers, and healthcare organizations to discuss the latest developments in dementia research.
Our team member, Filippo Talami, joined a panel discussion and had meaningful conversations with attendees and the Longitude Prize team.
Being selected as a finalist comes with an incredible reward: a £300,000 prize! This funding will help us move forward with the next phase of our project.
We will use the prize money to:
Test our prototypes with people living with dementia and their caregivers
Improve our solution based on real feedback
Ensure that our technology truly supports independent living
A Prize to Help Us Improve Our Project
Our team will submit a detailed proposal to the judging panel by November 2025. In February 2026, the final winner will be announced. The winner will receive a £1 million grant to bring their solution to the people who need it most.
The Final Evaluation
Over the next 15 months, we will work closely with participants to create a solution that meets their needs. If you would like to be part of this process, stay tuned!
